Our Event
Spin for Steven is a cycling event hosted by students at the University of Louisville. We invite attendees to participate in scheduled 20 minute cycling sessions throughout the day. We also have several fun and interactive activities, influenced by the life of Steven Vanover, on the day of the event.
In the Past
We have had a total of 6 Spin for Steven events over the last 5 years. Our first event took place in the Spring of 2017 at the Student Recreational Center at the University of Louisville. We were able to raise $18,000. Since then, we have continued to expand our event. We eventually grew out of the recreational center. In 2021, we hosted out event at Lynn Family Stadium. Last year, we had our event at Louisville Slugger Field. Every event we have been able to raise more money than the previous, including just over $80,000 last spring, totaling over $260,000 raised since the start. Most importantly, we have been able to continue to spread Steven's story and spread awareness for Desmoplastic Small Round Cell Tumors Sarcoma. We would not have been able to do this without the support of participants, our sponsorships, as well as the UofL Greek Life and Kentuckiana communities.

Spring 2025 Event
We are excited to announce that Spin for Steven 2025 will be held in Student Recreational Center at the University of Louisville on April 5th. Those who register for the event will be assigned to a cycling group prior. Led by our Spin Leaders, the cyclists will participate in a 15-20 minute spin session. Aside from the cycling class, there will be other activities taking place that everyone can participate in. At the conclusion of Spin for Steven, we will have a reveal event where we will disclose the total amount of money raised for sarcoma research.
